Socrates first and foremost said, "Knowing yourself" is a good starting point for seeking wisdom. Socrates could have stayed all night, just thinking. He was famous for what we call today's inner peace or tranquility: a very "low-stress" man.
He was sentenced to death because he came to the conclusion and taught that not many gods, as the Greeks believed, but only one God. He quickly escaped and escaped the death penalty, which was sentenced to death in Greek city states. Instead, he decided to drink as a witness to his goodbye. He talked quietly to his closest friends as soon as he was ready to die. But the business leader, and even everybody, is the first and most important step in stress management starting with self-knowledge. What is Frustration? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What do you love most about working and what do you enjoy the least?
Based on your weaknesses and frustration points, what job is the least effective? And in a related negative assessment, which jobs last longer than they should? For example, are you afraid of doing the books and doing this on the wall? Do you hate paid accounts? Invoicing? Registering the records with employees? Written ad copy? Filing? Creating reports?
Based on your strengths and loved ones, what job is most effective? What are the aspects of your work? What do you love best?
There is a warning to consider. Sometimes we are not very good at the most popular tasks. Sometimes we are very good at the tasks we least enjoy. Likewise, sometimes we are the worst in the things we do worst and slowest in the most beloved things. "You Know Me" includes careful self-analysis of how well you spend your time and why it takes longer to take on some tasks and takes less time for others. What makes us as business managers is the starting point for developing strategies to achieve the least amount of time and the least stress. But recognition is not necessarily a fast process.
The general strategy for minimizing stress is to do things that are best and fast and enjoy the most. Obtain others as much as possible to perform tasks that you are not quick or particularly effective or disliked the most. Make sure that if you delegate these tasks to your staff to not get a job for a worker, then it's not good, not fast or you do not like it. Think about outsourcing: someone who wants to do what he does not like.
There is no such rocket science in this approach: we all feel better when we achieve something. We feel better when we do it relatively quickly and when the task is something we enjoy. In contrast, frustration always arises when we are fighting for a task that lasts forever and which we do not like. Stress management in the overall strategy is very similar to sports: play your strengths and avoid the least of your weaknesses. Incidentally, this is also a good strategy for productivity
