When I was in a private practice I found that when I ran out of the main reason why people came to a doctor, almost 80% of physical symptoms were related to emotional stress.

Stress affects our health both mentally and physically.

The human body has a chemical network that allows cellular communication with each other. These chemicals are hormones.

Cortisol is the most important hormone that is released into the blood stream when the body responds to stress response.

In pre-historic times, stress response was a survival mechanism. Or humanity has not survived to this day.

Think about it when a primitive man walking through the abandoned desert plain in Africa and wearing a saber tiger tiger has to develop the stress response to escape safely.

The interesting fact is that the body responds to emotional stress as well. In other words, only the emotionally stressed situation becomes the same chemical chemical that binds our bloodstream as if we were running away from the sword-toothed tiger.

Controlled and short-term stress may be helpful.

For example:

Preparing for that important math test and learning all night and still have enough alert for the exam.
It's a very important sales presentation that delivers a nice contract!
Finishing Marathon
Jumping over a large fence to avoid angry pit bulls.

All these causes of stress that are controlled and have a short duration. After the stressful event has ended, the cortisol levels return to normal.

It is inevitable that life can only happen and at that time be exposed to chronic stress.

To help our general well-being, it's important to know how to handle stress effectively. Reducing stress is possible in many ways.

One way to address the long-term effects of stress is to build a support network.

As a doctor I always focused on prevention and encouraged my patients and clients to be proactive in their well-being.

It is important to develop a good stress management capability long before the effects of stress occur.


Supporting Family Members. It is invaluable if you are able to rely on the wisdom of the elders of the family. If you are blessed to still live, get close to them. There are probably very few life experiences that you can not get insight. If nothing but their unconditional love is invaluable.

I came from a place where the elders are honored for their wisdom and insight. There is a special soft spot for older patients and they spend a lot of time listening to them to share the pearls of wisdom.

During stress, some may leave their family. They may think that no one understands what they are doing.

Cutting off communication lines at these times can lead to depression.

It is important to make a conscious decision that we remain open to the support and love that truly cares about you. This will allow you to get up and do not experience a situation that feels ineffective.

Supporting close friends, priests or employee assistance programs at work everybody creates a strong support system.

Another resource is the inclusion of life insurance services.

There are differences between coaching and counseling.

There are many ways to build a network. Today, the strong presence of social media such as Facebook makes it possible to create an online "stress forum". it is very easy to start.

Social networks are one of the simplest ways for people who are interested to be able to connect to their homes and provide great support.

It is more effective if these support networks are made easier for a coach or counselor to avoid becoming a place for negativity. It is also important that all participants have no underlying psychological illness, such as depression or any other psychiatric illness.
