I work in businesses, non-governmental organizations, and governmental organizations where there are two types of people – those who admit that stress and stress in their lives and denial. Both may suffer, but the latter can not deal with what is a critical workplace problem (UK Health and Safety Executive stipulates that employers have to deal with, so important). Fortunately, macho attitudes are fainting as people realize that stress can affect health (most of the world's most dead killers are stressful), efficiency / effectiveness (studies show that stressful people do not work well) and workplace and home relationships.
Stress training is considered to be valuable by companies as if they were performing well, staff turnover (output rate), increased efficiency, and reduced absolutism. In addition to moral status, stress management ensures that organizations save money. So what are the obstacles to stress generation? Apart from the disadvantages to which stress can weaken, it may be a misconception that people are doing well. Certain positive excitement or eustresse of course can be useful – but the vast majority of modern organizations I see far exceeds this every day and work on adrenaline and go towards burning. The concept of "sustainable work" is often useful in treating stress, just as the difference between "living relaxation" (like an athlete) and "dead relaxation" (like an unconscious drunk).
Other obstacles to stress management include time and cost. Short-targeted courses funded by state aids can help each of them.
What makes stress training effective?
Some stress training is effective and some are not (based on participants in feedback or "hard actions" such as staff days of staff). Here are some things that effectively workplace stress management training includes:
Choose an experienced service provider
Would the dentist do "house" or ask your technician to do this? Of course not, it is worth paying for a specialist to deal with stress at work and the same is true for investing in experienced and specialized stress training. Of course I'm biased, but the real test is paying off the agreement between clients.
Appropriate preparatory assessment
Stress training works only when targeting the body's needs. Public stress training courses are possible but if the trainer directly deals with the concerns of delegates after thorough research, then this is excellent. A pre-stress stress management questionnaire would be a minimum measure.
An Inclusive and Integrated Perspective of the Stress Course
Talking about stress theories is not enough, because stress is a phenomenon, and this has to be addressed a lot. Likewise, stress alone would not satisfy a single angle as the psychological, biological, social, cultural, environmental and organizational aspects should be taken into account in terms of efficiency, as these elements are all affected. Ken Wilber's unified model is the most complete theoretical review I know.
Stress training is interactive and entertaining!
Interactive and experiential training alleviates the problem of a tired or bored delegation that does not take anything and reach critical access.
Stress Management Training Enables 'Real-World Transfers'
Training is often a bad reputation, as in many organizations, people go on a course and immediately forget what they've learned. It is important that stress training incorporates teaching into real applications. Tracking emails and review sessions are also effective.
This article is, of course, just a brief introduction to stress training and stress management management, but I hope it was a useful start. At present, UK is currently providing more state support for stress training, so please contact the benefits of productivity, health and relationships.
